How to Eat and Drink in Bible versus Quran?

How to Eat and Drink in the Bible? (2)

In Ezekiel 12:18, the Bible states that the Lord God Love says:

O son of Adam, eat your bread with trembling and drink your water with shaking and grief.

This is the most straightforward and correct translation of Ezekiel 12:18

However, you smart reader will find the translation’s discrepancies in 18 different translations obtained from 18 different versions of the Bible.

[See the first article of this series:  Eat Rite in Bible versus Quran? (1)]

From the health and medical point of view, eating our food with shaking and fear and drinking our water with trembling and grief will cause many medical troubles in both the health in general and specifically in the gastrointestinal tract.  This way of eating and drinking ultimately will lead to irritable bowl syndrome, spastic colon, bouts of diarrhea and constipation, psychological troubles etc.

It is well known that the gastrointestinal tract encompasses about 60-80% of the total body’s immune system; consequently, what is the reason that made the Lord God Love suggest this strange, unhealthy and hurtful way of eating and drinking?

Moreover, can anyone who has faith in the Bible obey this God’s commandment about eating and drinking? I really doubt.   However, it is very easy for anyone who has faith in the Quran to obey Allah’s commandment about eating and drinking

How to Eat and Drink in the Quran? (2)

This article will deal with the following topics: 1) The background and the cause of revelation of verse 7:13, 2) The meaning of the verse, 3) How did this verse ban an evil habit in worshipping Allah, 4) How did this verse put the basic knowledge about Medicine, 5) what the Prophet Muhammad said about “How to Eat and Drink”, 6) did the Prophet Muhammad accept the gift of a doctor? And 7) What the Christian doctor said about this verse?

Verse 7:13

QARIB: children of Adam, take your adornment at every place of prayer. Eat and drink, and do not waste. He does not love the wasteful.

SHAKIR: o children of Adam! Attend to your embellishments at every time of prayer, and eat and drink and be not extravagant; surely He does not love the extravagant

PICKTHAL: o children of Adam! Look to your adornment at every place of worship, and eat and drink, but be not prodigal. Lo! He loveth not the prodigals.

YUSUFALI: o children of Adam! Wear your beautiful apparel at every time and place of prayer: eat and drink: but waste not by excess, for Allah loveth not the wasters.

The Quran was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad by the angel Gabriel during the period between 610 to 633 CE.  Herein, there is a major difference between the revelation of the Bible and the Quran.  The Bible is revealed as an entire book not in fragments.

The Prophet received the revelations in fragments; it is but natural that the revealed text should have referred to the problems of the day. It may be that one of his companion died; the revelation would have promulgate the law of inheritance; it could not be that penal law regarding theft, murder, or wine drinking for instance, should have been revealed at that moment. The revelation continued during the whole missionary life of the Prophet Muhammad which was 23 years. A revelation consisted sometimes of a whole chapter, short or long and sometimes of only a few verses.

When the verse 7:13 was revealed?

1) The background and the cause of revelation of verse 7:13

The background of the cause of revelation of this verse

Arabs before Islam used to perform pilgrim in a very strange way in respect to their clothes and their eating habit during the days of pilgrim.

One of the important pillars of pilgrim from the time of Abraham, the father of the Prophets, up till now is to “Tawaf” around “Kaaba”

Tawaf (circumambulation) means to move in a circle like way around Kaaba which is the Holy Place present in Mecca.  The movement of people in Tawaf resembles the movement of electrons around the neutron in the atom; whereas the electrons represent the people and the neutron represents the “Kaaba”.  You can have a look about Tawaf by browsing it in any video presenting sites on the net.

Anyway, the Arabs before Islam had a funny idea; they used to do Tawaf while they are naked; and because they are conservative people they decided that men do Tawaf at day time and women do Tawaf at night and in the darkness!  They did Tawaf naked because they said that they make sins while they wear clothes and they have to be naked in order that Allah might accept their pilgrim.  Of course, this concept was Satanic.

The other funny custom was in the way they eat during pilgrim. Arabs were and still they are famous with their hospitality.  The Arabs dwelled in Mecca were very kind to their guests who were coming from any places outside Mecca.  The Mecca dwellers used to present a lot of food for their thousands guests.  Herein, we have an interesting discrepancy in the way of eating of the two groups.  The Mecca dwellers used to eat very little if any saying that they are the dweller of Mecca and their role is to present food for the guests of Allah not to eat; and if they were obliged to eat, they ate very little.  On the other hand, the guests of Allah, i.e., the Non- Mecca dwellers used to eat a lot, as much as they could, saying that this food is holy food that is presented to them in a holy place.  Hence, we have the two extremes; a party which does not eat or eat very little and the other party which eat a lot.

Muslims asked the Prophet Muhammad about this point.

The Angel Gabriel came in with the answer; with the verse 7:13

2) The meaning of the verse7:13:

O Children of Adam!

Don your adornment, that which covers your nakedness, at every place of worship, at the time of every prayer and at the circumambulation,

And eat and drink, what you want, but do not be excessive;

And do not declare unlawful wholesome foods, meat and fat.

Allah truly does not love those who are excessive.

Allah does not love those who transgress by leaving the lawful and going after the unlawful.

3) How did this verse ban an evil habit in worshipping Allah?

It should be emphasized that many generations of Arabs before Islam used to do Tawaf (circumambulation) around Kaaba while they were naked.  However, all Muslims do Tawaf while they are dressed and put their clothes on since this verse has revealed and up till now.  In other word, the first third of this verse forbids this evil custom.

4) How did this verse put the basic knowledge about Medicine?

5) What the Prophet Muhammad said about “How to Eat and Drink”?

6) Did the Prophet Muhammad accept the gift of a doctor?

The answers of (4), (5) and (6) are found in (7).

7) What the Christian doctor said about this verse?

It has been said that “Al-Rashid” the king of the Arabs had a smart Christian doctor.

There was a very interesting dialogue between this smart Christian doctor and the King “Al-Rashid”.

The Christian doctor said: O king, we know that the sciences are two, the religious sciences and the health and medical sciences; and you Muslims assume that the Quran talks about everything, but I could not find anything related to the health and medicine.

The King said: How is that! We have all the health and medical sciences in half a verse of the Quran.

The Christian doctor said: What verse?

The King said: Eat and drink but do not be excessive or extreme

The Christian doctor said: Wow, this verse summarizes all the health and medical sciences in few words; but my King, have you anything said or done by the Prophet Muhammad about the custom of eat and drink?

The King said: We have a lot in this field.

 First, the Prophet Muhammad said:

“The worst receptacle that the son of Adam fills is his stomach”

The Christian doctor said: Wow, what a “Hadith”!

N.B.: Hadith = Muhammad’ saying

The King said: Also, you are a Christian doctor who lives with us; but do you know that the Prophet Muhammad did not accept a doctor who was given to him as a gift from the Pope of Egypt?

The Christian doctor said: I have no idea about that.

The King said: After the opening of Mecca; the Prophet Muhammad sent to the Pope of Egypt to invite him to know the Islam.  He sent him few Muslims to give him an idea about Islam.  The Pope of Egypt sent with Muhammad’s messengers some gifts to the Prophet.  These gifts were: 1) a woman called Marie, 2) some containers of Honey and 3) a Christian doctor.

When Muhammad’s messengers came in and gave the Pope’s gifts to their Prophet; Muhammad said: We will accept the honey and the woman but we do not need a doctor.

Then the Prophet Muhammad adds:

We people do not eat unless we are hungry and if we eat we do not fill our stomach.

Then the Prophet Muhammad said:

Just eat what to keep you alive, however, If you like eating very much and you want to eat a lot, then make it as three thirds for your stomach, one third for your food, the second third for your drink and the last third for your breathing.

(This means that, the food does not exceed the third of your stomach volume wise; this is in case you like over eating).

The King continued and said: but the most global Hadith that sums up all the health and medical sciences in three words is: “the Stomach is the Home of Sickness”.

The Christian doctor said: Wow! Indeed, the Quran and Hadith go over the main points of the health and medical sciences in few words. Such words are more global and fruitful than what “Galenus” has said.

N.B.: Galenus is one of the famous Greek doctors,

This dialogue between “Al-Rashid” the king of Arabs and his smart Christian doctor happened after the death of the Prophet Muhammad by about some 170 years.  But what about the Christian doctor that had been presented as a gift from the Pope of Egypt to the Prophet Muhammad?

Muhammad gave him food, water, clothes etc. and commanded some of his fellows to accompany him and get his back to Egypt to and to thank the Pope of Egypt.

The Pope of Egypt asked why Muhammad did not accept the doctor as a gift.  The Christian doctor answered him and said: Indeed my father! You have sent me to the father of Medicine; He and his people do not need any doctor.

Look at the people at that time; they had fruitful debates, they used to respect each other, they knew how to differentiate between the true and the false.  In addition, they were very knowledgeable, all of them were very knowledgeable, the Pope of Egypt, the King of Arabs, the two Christian doctors.

But what about the Prophet Muhammad who said:

“The Stomach is the Home of Sickness”.

Was he very knowledgeable? Or was he inspired by Allah?

How come that He was ahead of the today scientists who say that the gastrointestinal tract encompasses about 60-80% of the total body’s immune system?

Back to verse 7:13, it is divided into three parts:

The first part forbids the evil custom of Tawas.

The second part gives mankind the best way of eating and drinking.

The third part declares that Allah does not love the transgressors.

Compare these meaning of verse 7:13 of the Quran with verse Ezekiel 12:18 of the Bible that says: “O son of Adam, eat your bread with trembling and drink your water with shaking and grief”.

Then you smart knowledgeable reader ask the scholars who claim that the Quran is quoted or stolen from the Bible; you ask them:

Is the Quran quoted from the Bible?  And you know how to reply them!

How to Eat and Drink in Bible versus Quran? (2)

This is the second article in this series that is interesting for every one:

How to Eat and Drink in Bible versus Quran?

In the Bible, the Lord God Love says: O son of Adam, shake with fear when you eat your food, and tremble with grief when you drink your water.  In the Quran, Allah says: eat and drink but do not be extravagant.

Ezekiel 12:18 (in four different versions of the Bible):

New International Version

18 “Son of man, tremble as you eat your food, and shudder in fear as you drink your water.

21st Century King James Version

18″Son of man, eat thy bread with quaking, and drink thy water with trembling and with sorrow;

English Standard Version

18″Son of man, eat your bread with quaking, and drink water with trembling and with anxiety.

Amplified Bible

18Son of man, eat your bread with shaking, and drink water with trembling and with fearfulness;

And eat and drink, what you want, but do not be excessive;

When i was very young, my parents had a hard time taking care of me as i was always sick, coughing, sneezing, flu, sensitive nose anything you can think of in terms of respiratory problems.
My coughs will last at least a month and it gets very severe before recovery, i cannot do a lot of sports and had very weak body. As we were very poor those days, we did not have very good food and it also constituted to my weak health.
Then came army, the training in camp made me stronger but i also experience my old symptoms every now and continue into my working life.
It was during the last four to five years when i was introduced to health business that i realised this was the business that i was suitable and looking for all these while and it changed my health, my life and that of my family. www.anionhealthwear.weebly.com www.simplyrichsg.com/ah

Look Good Naked: Glute Training

How to Look Good Naked Part II : Developing the GlutesThis article on glute training was originally written for AskMen.com, however the information is 100% relevant for members of both sexes who want to tone, tighten and develop “winning glutes”! Of course, “winning glutes” may mean different things to different people, so at the risk of sounding like something from Cosmopolitan magazine let us agree that it means rounder, firmer, and perkier!I sometimes wonder whether we should rename AskMen as AskWoman. After all in our male quest to be buff, and as the saying goes “look good naked”, our very first port of call should be to ask women what it is that they find physically attractive in a man. Sure, some of them will drip on about nice eyes, but that’s fairly useless to us as it’s largely something you are born with and thus beyond our control (unless the metrosexual in you goes down the highly questionable coloured contact lense route), and let’s face it only nice girls go for the eyes, and we all should want a bad girl at least once in our lives! Maybe more, but best not to let my own personal peccadilloes dominate this article. And what do most bad girls want? A recent informal survey conducted at my personal training gym came out with a 92% vote in favour of a “nice tight butt”. In plain, business-like English that means a round, firm set of glutes that lifts out a pair of jeans from the rear. In other words, not a wide ass, and not a flat ass! Go on, crane you head around in the mirror and take a look at your own rear end. The chances are that your own glutes / butt could do with some improving. The rest of what is to follow will tell you how, and if you take my advice and stay disciplined for the next month should result in a trail of admiring glances following you whenever you decide to strut your stuff walking down the street!Anatomy of the GlutesThe glutes comprise of three muscles that make up the overall “gluteals” – gluteus maximus, gluteus medius, and gluteus minimus. Although all three muscles are important to proper athletic balance and function our primary goal should be to stimulate hypertrophy (muscular growth) of the gluteus maximus muscle, one of the strongest and largest muscles on the human body. It is the uppermost of the three gluteal muscles and therefore the one responsible for the “lifting” effect of the perky derriere on both men and women.Glute Training ExplainedThere are generally two main difficulties associated with effective glute training. Firstly, given the size and strength of the muscles involved it is just plain hard work. A few tight butt clenches just won’t cut it – you need to shift decent weights for deep movements that activate all the targeted muscle fibres (more on this in the next section). Secondly, just as with training the upper back, glute training can be hampered by the very fact that you can’t actually see what you are supposed to be exercising. I’ll give you a brief lesson in how this works. Go ahead and contract your bicep. A tenner says that you looked down at your bicep whilst you squeezed it. Quite simply it is far easier to contract a muscle that you can see. Effective posterior chain training (nit just the glutes but also the hamstrings and back muscles) takes practice to develop that all important “mind-muscle” connection.Glute Training WorkoutI am very much a believer in the Law of Specificity – you get what you train for. So in order to achieve the best results with your glute training, or any other body part specialisation plan, you must focus all of your energies on that one thing and not get caught up with any other distraction. Perform the following workout by itself twice per week (best would be on a Monday and a Friday), and the only other resistance training that you undertake should be an upper body workout every five days. Do this for a month and both your legs and your glutes will be rounder, firmer and draw admiring glances from afar!Perform giant sets (do one exercise after the other) with no rest between exercises, resting 3 minutes after the last exercise (cable pull throughs) before beginning again. Complete a total of 3 or 3 giant sets depending upon your training age and how much guts you have for hard work and pain!1. Step Ups / 15 reps each leg / tempo 20X0Step up onto a regular flat bench. Perform 15 reps per leg, exercising one leg at a time. If 15 reps are easy then be a man and add some weight.2. Romanian Deadlifts / 12 reps / tempo 4010Grasp a loaded barbell with a medium width grip and bend forward at the waist. Bend your knees slightly and then keep them stiff, push the hips back and always maintain a straight or slightly arched lower back. Do NOT round your lower back at all! Keeping the bar as close to your body as possible, you should be able to take the bar down to mid shin level only until you can’t stretch anymore without losing form. Then stand up straight and tighten the glutes and lower back. That’s one rep, eleven more to go.3. Lunges / 15 reps each leg / tempo 2010You should all know how to perform lunges by now. Fifteen reps, one leg at a time. Again, you must add weight as and when you hit the prescribed repetition goal.4. Cable Pull Throughs / 10 reps / tempo 4011This exercise does take a bit of a knack to get the hang of, so rather than jump straight into it I’d advise you to spend 10 minutes warming up on it and becoming familiar and comfortable with the movement. Slightly bend your knees, and with your feet wider than shoulder width apart, face away from a low cable pulley and take an overhand, two-handed grip on a rope handle. Ensure that your lower back is arched and your shoulders are back at all times, and then simply pull the rope handle through your legs until you are stood upright with glutes squeezed together in a hard contraction. Please note that tempo denotes the speed with which you must perform each stage of the exercise movement. So “4010″ means 4 seconds down (negative), 0 seconds pause at the bottom of the movement, 1 second up (positive), 0 seconds pause at the top of the movement. With the step ups, where I have written “X” this stands for “explosive” – so go up as quickly as you possibly can.A word on nutrition for the glutesNobody wants to be a fat arse, and no matter how developed your gluteal muscles are they will always look like saggy and wobbly without the necessary low body fat. For a man anything over 14% body fat is a wide arse, so make sure that you are reasonably lean and stay away from the refined carbs! We have some great articles on how to use BioSignature Modulation to control your body fat levels. I highly recommend that some of you chubsters out there have a good read of them, as well as visiting the main BioSignature Modulation services page.Glute Training ConclusionThis is a killer glute workout that will also fry your quads and hamstrings and leave you so sore that you will curse my name every time you are forced to park your butt on anything other than the softest of cushions. However, just when you will have gotten sick and tired of cursing “Mitchell, the pain in the ass” you will change your tune as the muscular gains this programme always unleashes are well worth the effort and sacrifice. Just don’t blame me when you have to invest in a whole new set of jeans and trousers!
